The Global Collaborative Research Center for Mega Manufacturing AI opened on December 22, 2023. The opening ceremony took place at 9:50 a.m. in the Simyeon Hall of Hanma Mirae Gwan, where the vision and future direction of the center were shared along with commemorative events. The opening remarks were given by President Park Jae Kyu, followed by a video speech from the Governor of South Gyeongsang Province Park Wan-su, and speeches from Mayor of Changwon City Hong Nam-pyo and Lawmaker Choi Hyung-du.
Operated jointly by Kyungnam University (KU), MegazoneCloud, KAIST, and Gyeongnam TechnoPark, the Global Joint Research Center aims to lead the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry, which is a key industry in South Gyeongsang Province, through the application of “Giant AI.” Via collaboration among industry, academia, research institutes, and the government, the center will develop foundational technologies to guide innovation in the global manufacturing industry.
