Hello, my name is Ahn Jae-wook, and I am majoring in Physical Education at Daegu University. As one semester at school came to an end, I was looking for ways to utilize my spare time to cultivate my mind. During this search, I thought, why not read the magazine of The Kyungnam Times (KT), which my best friend is a part of? I began reading KT and fortunately, I got the opportunity to write for KT.

While reading KT, one article caught my attention, titled 'Infringement of Teachers’ Right from Parents'. This article deals with a case of infringement of educational authority that occurred at Seo2 Elementary School. It introduces not only domestic cases of educational authority infringement but also cases from abroad, changes in perception of teaching, movements of teachers and the government, countermeasures, and more. Due to my focus on school life, I hadn't paid proper attention to the issue, but through this excellent article, I became aware.

Furthermore, reading the quote "Big jobs usually go to the men who prove their ability to outgrow small ones." - Ralph Waldo Emerson in 'Catch the Words' gave me new thoughts. The above quote means that if you don't give up on small tasks, you will eventually be able to accomplish big ones. There is a saying that if you want to change yourself, start by making your bed in the morning. You might wonder what relationship making the bed has with change, but it means accomplishing the first task of the day by tidying the bed. This gives us a sense of pride and the courage to tackle the next task. After reading this article, I reflected on whether I have a diligent routine and gained the motivation to move forward.

I turned the vacation period, which could have been spent meaninglessly, into a meaningful time by studying English and accumulating knowledge about the world through KT. I am grateful to KT for providing such a wonderful opportunity, and I look forward to the next issue.
