On the afternoon of October 14, the 28th Kim Dal-jin Literary Commemoration Festival and the 34th Literary Award Ceremony were held at Kim Dal-jin's birthplace in Sosa Village in Jinhae-gu, Changwon City. The ceremony was attended by officials, lawmakers, city council members, and provincial councilors and others. The award ceremony started with a keynote speech delivered by Lee Kyung-soo, a literary critic. He spoke on the theme of "Reading Kim Dal-jin's Poetry Again in the Era of Climate Change," reminding audience members of the beauty and preciousness of nature reflected in the poems of Kim Dal-jin. At the Kim Dal-jin Literary Award Ceremony, poets Kang Shin-hyung and Jang Seok-won were given awards in the poetry category, and critic Nam Song-woo was awarded in the criticism category. Kang Shin-hyung, a senior poet, who made a debut through "National Literature," was honored for his collection of poems titled "Now Asking Me at Last." Jang Seok-won received an award for his fifth poetry collection, "Yurumuru." Professor Nam Song-woo was awarded for his work "Biography of Go Seok-gyu."
The Changwon KC International Literature Award, established by Kyungnam University President Park Jae Kyu and marking its 14th anniversary this year, was awarded to Jean-Claude de Crescenzo, French writer and critic.
