On July 5, 10 million won was donated by Kim Jang-hee, the CEO of Hwayoung Steelmaker to the Institute for K-Democracy Studies. While working for 4 years as the 15th and 16th Chairman of the 3·15 Movement Memorial Association, Kim Jang-hee made various efforts to inherit the spirit of democracy and restore the honor of past victims.
He contributed to the opening of the Institute for K-Democracy Studies, which was established last May, in order to connect the past, present, and future of Korean democracy through systematic and in-depth research and education. He wished for the development of KU and asked KU, which takes an important role in inheriting and developing Korea’s democratic spirit, to pay more attention to the community.
After expressing gratitude for the donation, KU President Park Jae Kyu said that the Institute for K-Democracy Studies of KU will spare no support in exploring democratic values and inheriting and developing the spirit of democracy through various programs and content.
