Hello, my name is Son Pil-jun, a senior majoring in psychology at Kyungnam University. As graduation approaches, I constantly worry about my future career. Looking back on my school life, I recall many joyful memories with great people and meaningful academic experiences that, although challenging, were ultimately rewarding. In the first week of my senior year, I came across the Kyungnam Times (KT) through a friend. As I read through the articles, one essay titled “Let’s Start from Small Things” deeply resonated with me. It emphasized how small habits, like waking up early and making the bed, can give us the courage to take on bigger challenges. These words made me reflect on my university life, where I often chased after ideals and made excuses rather than acting on things I could easily do. That article stayed with me because it reminded me of a turning point in my own life. In my junior year, I suddenly felt a crisis about my passive, repetitive routine and asked myself, “What will I be able to do after graduation if I keep living this way?” From that moment, I began to change. I acted on small opportunities and followed my instincts. One of the biggest steps I took was participating in an English language program abroad, supported by the university. That experience greatly improved my language skills and personal confidence, and now I’m writing this article in English—a testament to my growth. Seeing many students still stuck in apathy reminds me of my past self. To them, I want to say: your dreams are within reach. Start with small steps—move forward and look around. What you’re looking for is already around you. Chase it, grab it, and make it yours. Reading KT can improve your English and spark motivation with its inspiring stories and diverse content. I’m grateful to share this journey through KT, which covers inspiring stories to cultural updates. Reading KT can improve your English and spark motivation.
