Hello, my name is Lee Hye-won, and I am currently a student in the Department of Police Studies at Kyungnam University. I have always been fascinated by my friend who works at the Kyungnam Times (KT), writing articles and even publishing books. Watching my friend work, I thought that if I had the opportunity to work here, I would be able to improve my English skills and access a wealth of interesting information. This is why I am writing this letter today.
I have read several articles from the KT, and one of the topics that particularly caught my attention was the protective maternity leave system. When I first learned about this system, I thought it was a great initiative. However, as I continued reading the article, I realized that the system has significant drawbacks, in addition to its benefits. That said, I believe that if the disadvantages of the system can be addressed, it could be a valuable way to protect women and children in this era of low birth rates.
In addition, I have read articles on various social issues and other diverse topics. I believe that writing articles myself and reading those written by others provides an excellent opportunity to not only improve my English skills but also to gain valuable information.
Lastly, I would like to express my appreciation and give a round of applause to the reporters at the KT for their hard work in writing articles. Looking at the articles they have written, I can imagine that a great deal of effort went into consistently finding topics and writing about them. Thanks to their dedication, I have been able to read many interesting articles. I would like to express my gratitude to the writers and to the friend who provided me with the opportunity to write this letter. Thank you.
