Changing “Maybe...” to “Surely!” with the Kyungnam Times

Happy summer! I am Park sang-hyeon, an English Education student at Kyungnam University, wishing you a happy and meaningful summer. I recently found the excellent Kyungnam Times (KT) and wanted to share why this English journal is so impressive. Among its many great articles, one article about Rosé from Blackpink particularly caught my eyes. As my favorite Blackpink member, her charming voice and talent, exemplified by her hit song “APT,” are really captivating. “APT” also holds special meaning for me because I once performed a dance to it while studying English in the Philippines. The funny moment made this article more special and meaningful. I was also impressed by the article’s well-structed nature and thorough research, which are crucial for engaging readers and conveying information effectively! Thanks to the reasonable reasons and structure, I could understand and pay attention to this article. Finally, the articles’ connection of Rosé to the popular and new animation, “K-pop Demon Hunters,” highlighted the global reach of K-pop culture, a fact that makes me incredibly proud as a Korean. Knowing that Blackpink influenced many aspects of the animation like character and concept made the article even more interesting.
Just like this piece, the KT offers many surprising and educational stories, all written in English. Reading this quarterly English journal is an excellent way to enhance your English skills-a vital international language-through practical exposure to speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I strongly recommend it! Thank you for reading, and once again, happy summer!
