The Opportunity for English Learning and Growth with the Kyungnam Times

 Hello! My name is Kim Ji-hyun, and I am currently a junior majoring in English Education at Kyungnam University (KU). I am deeply interested in not just learning English as an academic subject but also using it as a means of communication in real life. I believe that reading English newspapers and writing articles in English is a great way to enhance language skills while also broadening one’s perspective.

 Recently, I read an article in the Kyungnam Times (KT) titled "Learning English through Conversation with ChatGPT: My Future Plan after Retirement in My Vegetable Garden.’’ The writer shared their experience of practicing English conversation with ChatGPT while planning post-retirement life tending a vegetable garden. What impressed me the most was how the writer of the article used ChatGPT to rehearse conversations for resolving conflicts with neighbors and maintaining harmony within the community. This article made me realize once again that learning English is not just about acquiring language skills but also about applying them in real-life situations as a valuable communication tool.

 KT is a valuable platform that provides KU students with diverse and relevant information. It covers not only campus news but also various social issues, interviews, and opinion columns. Additionally, its English-language articles makes it an excellent resource for improving language skills, serving as a great reference for learning practical expressions and sentence structures. I strongly recommend KT to fellow students who are interested in learning English. Reading these articles will not only help improve your language abilities but also provide insights into different perspectives, fostering a broader worldview.
