Understanding and love are closely related to each other. Because love is the foundation for understanding, it opens our hearts to accept other people’s perspective and share in their difficulties and joys. In other words, the more we try to understand those we love, the stronger our bond becomes. For example, parents love their children so deeply that they invest a significant amount of time in understanding their children's behavior, feelings, and thoughts. Through this process, parents come to accept and respect their children's perspectives and experiences, gaining a deeper understanding of them. In this way, love leads us on the path to understanding, which in turn deepens love itself.

However, understanding is not always perfect. Sometimes there are limits to understanding other people's behaviors or thoughts. In these moments, love plays an essential role in overcoming these limitations. Love allows us to respect and accept other people, even if we do not fully understand them. So even if our understanding is incomplete, love fills in the gaps and becomes the force that sustains the relationship. Leo Tolstoy's famous saying, “Everything that I understand, I understand only because I love” highlights the deep connection between love and under standing. Love promotes understanding, and understanding deepens love. Tolstoy’s words illustrate the interac tion between these two forces, emphasizing that love is essential for true understanding. Inspired by Tolstoy's insight, we are encouraged to live authentically, seeking greater understanding and striving to coexist with others in our daily lives through love.
