Are you satisfied with what you are doing? Most people want to accomplish great things, and some devote their lives to doing so. But in the end, many people fail to achieve their dreams. So, what is the difference between those who can reach their goals and those who cannot?

Perhaps it depends on if you enjoy what you’re doing.

Steve Jobs once said: “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” He believed that when you devote yourself to doing what you like to do, you will naturally gain knowledge about it. In contrast, if you spend most of your time doing what you don’t like or enjoy to achieve something great, you might feel empty and skeptical even after you succeed. But if you do what you really love, won’t you feel that your efforts and time are being rewarded? This feeling of reward gives us the driving force to constantly challenge ourselves. The passion and dedication to work will naturally bloom within you, and you will feel greater satisfaction through the emotional rewards that come from your hard work. Accomplishing great things takes time, but even that time can be a valuable and enjoyable flow if you love what you do.

You might accomplish something great by doing what you don’t like, but such work tends to be aimed solely at success. Ultimately, your interest and efficiency might gradually decrease since only the result is valued. However, if you do what you like with affection, you will surely gain something more precious, even if you do not reach your desired goal.
