Kyungnam University's (KU) Human Resources Development (HRD) project group
recently received an A grade in the performance Evaluation of “2020 Regional and
Industrial Customized Human Resources Development Project,” which was organized
by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and conducted by the Human Resources
Development Service of Korea. As a result, KU will carry out government support
projects for the next six years until 2026; as it has been selected as the best operating
institution for the fourth consecutive year following the best operating institution for
Regional and Industrial Customized HRD Projects from 2018.
The Regional and Industrial Customized HRD Project is aimed at providing local
companies with opportunities to cultivate practical affairs customized human
resources, and training unemployed young people as professional technical personnel.
Through this, companies' chronic shortage of technical manpower is resolved, and
quality jobs for the youth are created. This evaluation consisted of project performance
capabilities, project operation, and project results, which are the evaluation criteria for
Regional and Industrial Customized HRD Projects operating institutions in 2020.
Kang Jae-kwan, Vice President for Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation has
stated, "The HRD project group is taking the lead in industry-academic cooperation by
supporting vocational competency development education for promising workers of
small and medium-sized enterprises in the region. In addition, we will do our best to
strengthen the capabilities of workers and companies through early education support
for future innovative technologies.”
