KU recently won the Korea Employment Information Director Award in the field of career guidance for 2020 Youth Dream Best Practice University, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Employment Information Service, and the Dong-A Daily News. Youth Dream Best Practice is an award that selects universities that have achieved outstanding case examples in the three areas of career map, job support, and start-up support. Since 2015, it has been identifying excellent programs that each university has been promoting to support young people's career design, employment, and start-up support programs. In this regard, KU received good reviews for establishing a one-stop counseling support system called Gosanghae Dream Project, which solves issues with school life, career employment, and academic concerns, as part of a university innovation support project for freshmen who have difficulty adjusting to college life within the COVID-19 environment. A total of five departments in charge of learning, career counseling, and job support, including the Office of Human Resources and Development, participated in the project, and a one-stop counseling support system was established through collaboration between the departments. They provided organic support based on various types of counseling students had, such as employment and start-up counselling, as well as opportunities to strengthen their learning capabilities and foster college life adaptability. In particular, KU implemented a program to improve school adaptability and awareness of its role as a member of society and school for freshmen with significantly low college life adaptability in the aftermath of COVID-19. In addition, KU contributed greatly to enhancing the satisfaction of college life for new students through regular group curriculum activities conducted under strict quarantine regulations.
