KU was selected as the best university in the 2019 University Evaluation from an Industrial Perspective, organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education.
Industrial Perspective University Evaluation is a project which aims at suggesting that universities develop educational curriculums which the industrial world needs to cultivate talented individuals who can lead future industries. The renovated education curriculum will help universities to develop core job skills via courses suited to task performance in the industrial field. Executives and employees participated in the evaluation from 22 companies including POSCO, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, LG Display, CJ Hello, Sports Dong-A, Pulmuone Co., and Nongshim Co. More than 1,100 people participated in the survey, including the heads of the business departments, graduates and undergraduates. The assessment was conducted on 62 universities and 88 departments that wanted to participate among universities with three departments related with new material, media, and food. KU was recognized as having the best departments in all three areas for running the best curriculums. It was only KU that achieved the glory of running the best departments in all three fields.
